Marc Jacobs + Pat McGrath
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Marc Jacobs promises to launch a series of commemorative products, inviting friends and partners to reimagine their favorite pieces from the brand's universe, in limited edition drops.
Last Thursday (15/02) its first drop, made in partnership with makeup artist and friend Pat McGrath, was announced: The Pat McGrath Labs Matte Trance lipstick! a matte red lipstick that combines the label's unmistakable signature with the already known quality of PatMcGrath products, "the ultimate classic red". The launch will be available on February 20th on the Marc Jacobs website.
McQueen's new era
Ahead of Seán McGirr's debut as the creative director of Alexander McQueen, the brand has just released the first images of what's to come. In the photos and videos, Debra Shaw and Frankie Rayder wear the designer's first pieces for the label, completed by skull masks, an element that is part of their code. Perhaps most notable is the McQueen logo, sans Alexander, which has sparked speculation about the brand changing its name, but is actually an iteration of the original logo designed over thirty years ago by McQueen himself.
McGirr's first collection will be presented on March 2, during Paris Fashion Week.
Supreme...BR?
Last Wednesday, 02/14, Supreme published on its official networks (@supremenewyork) a video of a plane carrying the brand's flag, flying over Christ the Redeemer with the simple caption "Christ the Redeemer, 2024", which was enough to raise speculation about the brand coming to Brazil. The publication has more than 2,700 comments and has already appeared on several national fashion and streetwear portals, but no new clarifications have been published so far.
Sora
OpenAI, creators of ChatGPT, has just introduced its newest generative video system to the public - Sora, a "Video ChatGPT" that produces movies up to 1 minute long from text instructions. The quality and quantity of detail in the videos is impressive and raises concern among experts, who point out the risk of spreading misinformation. The tool is still in the testing phase and there is still no estimate of when it will be available to the general public.
